Architectural Design Process

Buckhorn is recognized for maintaining the quality of the community. As a member of the community, it is important to consider the Covenants when making significant changes to the exterior of your home or lot. The Covenants are in place to protect all of our home values and specifically to maintain a harmonious relationship with surrounding properties.

Please be considerate of your neighbors when making any of the following changes to your home:

• Fences: black wrought iron/aluminum equivalent only

• Landscaping – significant changes in front or back. Be aware that easements may exist on which landscaping or fencing should be avoided.

• Additions – buildings, decks, arbors, porches, driveways, sidewalks, antennae, etc.

• Permanent additions not connected to the building – sports goals, pools, pet enclosures, outdoor kitchens, etc. In general, permanent detached structures such as storage sheds are not permitted.

• House color changes.

• Windows, siding or roof replacement (only if roof color is changing).

Please scan/e-mail the form and supporting documents (dimensions, descriptions, contractor drawing or any information that would be helpful for the Board to expedite and approve your request) to the architectural committee representative Beverly Leddy, bleddy@indy.rr.com

Beverly will present the materials to the Board for approval. Then contact you with the approval or stipulations, if issues exist with your design.

As a reminder, written approval from the Architectural Committee must be obtained before construction can begin.
